stefan the bamf!

Because Stefan is the biggest badass in Mystic Falls. Yep. It's that simple.

He's also, for my money, one of the most complex characters on the show. So prepare for some meta and discussion on your dash, too.

I'm not about hate here, only love. But I might go on a rant or two every once in awhile. In love.

Enjoy the BAMFery!

  2. Man, S3 started out so strong. IMO, this Ripper deal needed to last way longer to carry the right amount of weight, but instead it just… fizzled out. As a result, S3 feels so front-loaded.

I wish Paul had gotten his wish: I could’ve lived with an off-the-rails Stefan for at least a full season or two. He pulled himself together much too conveniently, as if the writers were hurrying his recovery along for the sake of the contrived triangle ultimatum at the finale. (Ugh.) They squandered what was shaping up to be the best and boldest character exploration the series had ever attempted.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m still grateful for the new depth S3 brought to Stefan. Those early episodes (3x01 to 3x05) were dynamite. And there were some very bright spots even after. In certain places, S3 represented the best this show has ever been. But… man, the more I think about the direction the season ultimately took, the more disappointed I feel.

Oh well. Hopefully S4 has more focus and purpose. It seems like Julie and the rest of the writer’s room have been feeling the pressure to cater to all sides of the fanbase, which just… never works. Tell the story that makes the most sense, guys. Let the characters speak for themselves. Be true to them.

And for the love of all that is holy, don’t give me any more of this “Stefan is the safe choice” bullshit. Y’hear me? I am ALLERGIC to that bullshit.

  4. "Who the hell cares whom met Elena first? That completely belittles the triangle in the first place. And having Elena say ‘Maybe if we met first?’ is a slap in the face to either side of this. It says that whatever Stefan gave to her only meant something because he met her first; it says that whatever Damon gave to her is lesser than that because he was second in line. Triangles aren’t about who saw who first; they’re about unequivocally loving two people and struggling with what both of them bring to the table. Anything less is absurd."

whoo. loving all these stefan hate gifsets and hate posts. way to string together a bunch of random quotes and scenes taken out of context/sequence and rewrite the show for us. :D

(Seriously, though. I’ve been doing online fandom since 1999 and never in all my days have I seen fans as illogical, batshit, and flat-out hostile as TVD fans. This show makes people CRAY.)

Damon doing the opposite of what he’s said!

This is why I don’t trust Damon as far as I can throw him. I just can’t buy half of what he says. I mean, I love the guy, but he is not a man of his word. He’s a man of impulse.

(Oh, show. I already miss you. Come back to me.)
